Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a new event?

Tap the floating action button (+ icon) on the main screen, enter your event name, choose an icon and color, then tap "Create". Your new event will appear on the main page.

How do I log an event instance?

Simply tap on any event card to record a new instance with the current timestamp. You can also tap the event to open its detail page where you can add instances with custom timestamps or view your history.

What are Views and how do I use them?

Views are collections that help you organize related events. For example, you could create a "Health" view containing exercise, medication, and sleep tracking events. To create a view, use the + button and select "Create View". Events can belong to multiple views simultaneously.

How do I set up reminders for an event?

Open an event's detail page by tapping on it, then tap the bell icon or "Reminder Settings". You can set daily or custom interval reminders, choose the time, and enable snoozing. Make sure you've granted boopr notification permissions in your device settings.

What do the count badges mean?

Count badges show how many times an event has occurred during specific time periods. You can customize these in the event's detail page under "Count Display Settings". Options include current/last day/week/month/year, minimum/maximum periods, or custom date ranges.

Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored locally on your device using a secure Isar database. Nothing is sent to any cloud service or external server. Your data is completely private and under your control.

Can I export my data?

Yes! Go to Settings → Data Management → Export Data. This creates a JSON file containing all your events, instances, and views that you can save or share.

Can I import data from another device?

Yes! Go to Settings → Data Management → Import Data and select a previously exported JSON file. You can choose to merge with existing data or replace it entirely.

How do I delete an event?

Open the event's detail page, tap the three-dot menu in the top right, and select "Delete Event". This will permanently remove the event and all its instances. This action cannot be undone, so make sure to export your data first if you want to keep a backup.

How do I change between light and dark mode?

Go to Settings → Theme Settings and choose between Light, Dark, or System (which follows your device's theme). You can also customize the app's color scheme on the same page.

What's the difference between the Views tab and All Events tab?

The Views tab shows your organized views and main page events (unassigned events that you haven't hidden). The All Events tab shows every event you've created with search and sort capabilities. Use All Events to find and organize events that aren't on your main page.

The app isn't working correctly. What should I do?

Try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Force close and restart the app
  • Check that you're running the latest version from the App Store
  • Restart your device
  • Export your data as a backup, then try reinstalling the app
